Dossier in Kazakhstan

We just found out a few days ago that our dossier is in Kazakhstan. We didn't realize it had made it out of the Consulate. It was such wonderful news!

We also put in a region request to our agency. They said they would add a letter to our dossier as it moves from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of Education. I think the MOE is actually the ministry that decides the region but our dossier will include a preference. We'll see how it works out. As we told our agency, we'll just be happy to meet our child - any region.

We've started thinking about what we will need for our trip. I've been reading through yahoo groups, adoption blogs, etc., to get ideas. We even did a little shopping for our trip yesterday. Since we found out things are moving along, we decided we needed to prepare. I'm reminded of the farmer story in Facing The Giants - we've been praying for this - we need to get ready.

What great news! Just wait till he/she gets to meet Aunt Jane & Aunt Rhonda.

Of course, Mom, Dad & Sister Lainey are important too! ;-)

Love you all and can't wait to love my new niece or newphew also.

Congratulations!! Hope you don't mind but we'd love to follow along. We just returned from Astana, Kaz in Jan with a bouncing baby boy, named Berik. If you need anything like maybe advice on what to take just email us and I will let you know what was helpful to us, even if you are not going to the same region the ideas are similiar as to what to take. Top things are teething swabs, chapstick as it is $8.00 a tube there, cards as they don't have the same deck we do and a clothes line as there is are no dryers and a laptop of course if possible. We know how you feel as it was 2 years before we got through our paperwork and got our LOI. Again congratulations!! Sincerely, Gena and James www.jaimiegena@yahoo.com (from Texas)
