1 Down, 1 To Go

In our last entry, we mentioned that we only lacked 2 more pieces of documentation (FBI clearance and I-171H) for our dossier. Well, we received both of them on Friday, November 3rd. Just one problem, our I-171H had my middle name misspelled. I felt a little sick when I read it over and realized my name was wrong. In additon, the original has already been sent to the Embassy in Kazakhstan. We will work with USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration) this week and get it corrected. I just hate that we will have 2 on file now. We would just prefer for everything to be as clean and clear as possble, given that we are working with the government in two different countries.

On a good note, the FBI was awesome. I had not written "international adoption" on the outside of our application for clearance. After a few weeks, I still had not heard from them. I decided to follow-up on Tuesday and found out our application had never made it to the correct department. Within 3 days, they had found it, processed it, and sent it to me via the Fed Ex envelope I had enclosed. Thank the Lord!
