At the MOE

We found out today that our dossier is at the MOE - Ministry of Education (as of April 20th). I also found out we have a couple of more steps before we get "the call". I had misstated the process in an earlier post.

Our dossier will need to go to the Department of Education at which point it will be assigned to a region. The dossier then heads to the assigned region and then on to the orphanage. We should start getting more information from our agency once our dossier is assigned to a region. Based on the experience of a couple we met through CHI last year, things start to move quickly once you receive your region assignment. We are still hoping we will travel to Almaty.

We think that we will travel around July. We had originally thought June but it seems the Christmas & New Year's holidays probably delayed our paperwork some (our dossier went to Kazakhstan around 12/22).

It feels good knowing that we've made one more step. We are continuing to prepare by purchasing electronics and other items to make the trip more comfortable. We would love to pick up some toys & clothes for our new family member but we don't know what to get - boy vs girl stuff - infant vs toddler stuff. We'll just have to wait for that fun shopping trip.
